Administrative Bishop: Dr. Jeffrey McGirt

Bishop Jeffery McGirt is an ordained bishop and administrative leader in the Church of God. He recently served as the Administrative Bishop of Alaska for the Church of God for the last 6 years, overseeing pastoral leadership and church administration across the state. Prior to that appointment, Bishop McGirt served with Lee University since 2014 as the Director of Lee University’s Graduate Enrollment, and Director of Lee University Charlotte Center. Before transitioning into higher education, Bishop McGirt dedicated 26 years to local church ministry at the East Laurinburg Church of God. Within the broader denomination, he also served on the State Council and the Evangelism and Home Missions boards. Before entering full-time ministry, Bishop McGirt worked as a certified K-4 school teacher. His academic credentials include: Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.), Master of Divinity (M.Div.), and Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. In July 2026, Bishop McGirt was appointed to the serve the Church of God as Administrative Bishop for the state of Louisiana.

Barbara McGirt is an experienced ministry leader and academic coordinator. She works alongside her husband, Dr. Jeffery McGirt. Before stepping into full-time state ministry leadership, Barbara worked for a decade in higher education administration at Lee University as Graduate Admissions Coordinator where she managed enrollment pipelines and supported incoming students for the university’s graduate-level programs, and Online Student Success Coach where she provided academic guidance and retention support to long-distance students. During her 26 years serving with her husband at the East Laurinburg Church of God in North Carolina, she also served in various capacities with the Church of God, including State Girl’s Ministry Committee Member, Home for Children Board of Directors, and Church Secretary. Barbara holds a Masters Degree of Arts in Ministry Studies with a Youth and Family Emphasis from Lee University and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from Lee University. Originally from North Carolina, she and Bishop McGirt have two adult children, Christian Hughes and Jay McGirt, and one grandson, William. Following their six-year tenure leading the Church of God in Alaska, the McGirts were appointed to lead the Louisiana Church of God State Office in August 2026.
Youth & Discipleship: Kevin and Hailey Hendrix

Kevin and Hailey Hendrix are originally from Alabama and have had a rich ministry journey for the last 17+ years, primarily focused on Youth Ministry. They currently serve as Lead Pastors at Northshore Worship Center in Covington, LA, and as the Youth & Discipleship Directors of Louisiana since July 2023. Kevin has a long line of Church of God heritage in his family, but his own ministry journey began with obtaining his Exhorter Credentials at age 19. He now stands as an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, and his dynamic speaking spans many Youth Camps, conferences, and revivals. Kevin’s leadership has extended to roles like NYLA President and Winterfest Board member. Hailey, a Church of God Ordained Minister, directs the Louisiana Church of God Girls Committee, serves as a member of the Winterfest Board, and aids Creative Teams for NYLA, Louisiana COG State Events, Winterfest, and more. Married since 2013 with two adventurous boys, Baylor and Briggs, they relish outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, and National Park exploration. Rooted in deep dedication, Kevin and Hailey ardently guide this generation to embrace Jesus and harness the Holy Spirit’s transformative power.
